CrossBridge Anniversary
We’ll have a brief time of
celebration every 1st Sunday until July for the 10 Year
Anniversary
of CrossBridge. This is not an
attempt to “toot our own horn” but we want to celebrate how
God has moved in our church home and
how He has led through His Spirit and by his grace.

Join us as
we begin the 10 Year Anniversary Celebration Wednesday night at 7PM.
Bring your best dessert and you may need a Kleenex or 2 when you see the
video Greg Miles has prepared. We won’t be able to watch it in its
entirety but it will be playing while we eat dessert and celebrate
together. LifeSong will start us off and Garry will be leading a short
devotional. Can’t wait to see you Wednesday night.

Craig Hill
writes, “Our emotional roller-coaster continues. Dad had some type of
seizure last night and was taken by ambulance to the hospital in
Florence. They stabilized him with medication and he was sent home
later. Not sure what his condition truly is day to day or what his
future holds. God’s will be done and prayers for peace as he faces
health issues are welcomed.” Craig’s Dad’s name is Johnnie Hill.
Please pray for him.
·
I received
this e-mail on behalf of Mickey Bell. “Thank you all for your prayers
and concern for our Micky. Please continue to pray. If you would like
to help him and his family financially you may do so through the Jersey
Village church of Christ. Make the check payable to the church and note
it for Micky Bell. All donations handled in this way are tax
deductible. The address is as follows…Jersey Village church of Christ
8810 Jones Rd. Houston, TX 77065 Please pass this and all messages
regarding Micky's condition on to anyone that knows him. He and his
family need our prayers so desperately. Thank you.”

Gregg
Waycaster’s surgery is Thursday. Please lift him up in prayer.
·
Tiffany
Kemp writes, “I will be traveling (Flying) to New York on 7/3 and
returning on 7/7. I am asking for prayer that I have a safe flight
there and back. Devin will be staying with my mother & father while
I’m gone. Pray for my parents that take good care of Devin while I’m
gone. Thanks a bunch!”
·
Mary
Sue Tipton writes, “Please include David on your prayer list. On
July 9th, David will have a colonoscopy and on July 10th
he will have colon surgery. David was diagnosed with diverticulitis
4 weeks ago. It was about to abscess so all the infection had to
be cleared before surgery. He has lost a great deal of weight and
has been in severe pain. Please keep him in your prayers.”
·
Amanda
Cabaniss writes, “My friend and co-worker, Mamie Ziegler passed away
yesterday from her metastatic breast cancer. Her hospice nurse told
me she died very peacefully with her husband and daughter by her
side. Her minister was there and someone from her church choir was
there singing her up to Heaven. Mamie taught the 2-3 yr olds in
Sunday School at the Church of the Advent for many years so I know
she has a special spot in Heaven. Please pray for her family and
thanks for all of the previous prayers that Mamie stay pain-free
because they worked! Thanks.”
·
Madeline Buchanan writes, “The sound/audio visual ministry is in
need of more volunteers to run the slide shows during the services
and for praise team practices. If interested, please contact
Madeline Buchanan at
mlbuchanan@crossbridgechurch.org. Thanks to Jack Kemph and
Colonial Properties for providing the hosting for the CrossBridge
web page for so many years. The web page has now moved to a new
server on HiWAAY.net. Look for exciting changes to the web page in
the upcoming months.”

We
missed you on Sunday but had the blessing of worshipping with dear
friends on the campus of the University of Kentucky. There’s got to
be a little blue in Heaven
J
We gathered in prayer for this year’s football team knowing they
will need it, particularly on the October 4th trip to
Tuscaloosa. (just kidding) We did say prayers of a much more
important nature and sang “Blessed Be Your Name, Magnificat, Shout
Hallelujah” and other CB favorites. It made me miss you all, but it
was a blessing. The wedding was fun and interesting as well. Can’t
wait to see you all this week.
-
We enthusiastically
welcome the Bearden family to CrossBridge. Make sure you meet Elwyn
and Debby. They live on 3490 Bearden Lane in Helena AL 35080.
Meet Lindy (27), Clint (21) and Meredith (19) as well. You can also
reach out by e-mail at

I’ve heard great feedback from our Sunday service. I knew you would
be touched with the “Hilarious Giving” concept and I greatly
appreciate Cary’s leadership in calling us to move. What is God
calling you to do with your $10?
-
If
you missed this Sunday, you can still take part in the “Hilarious
Giving” project. Pick up your envelope from the Shepherds or Greg
Johnston when you see them on Wednesday or Sunday.
-
On
Sunday August 10th, we’ll have a special
collection/testimonial time from our “Hilarious Giving” endeavor.
This will also be a “Homecoming Sunday” when hopefully everyone will
be back into the school routine. We will have a potluck immediately
after services and it will be the final Sunday we’ll meet for one
service although there will be occasions where we all meet together
in the future. Please plan on joining us for the 10 Year
Anniversary Testimony Homecoming Back-To-School Super Cool Marvelous
Excellent Superb Festive Bash on the 10th.
-
August 17th will be our first 2 service Sunday! The
first service will begin at 8:30AM and end around 9:30AM. Bible
Class will start at 9:45AM end around 10:30AM. The second service
will start at 10:45AM and end around 11:45AM. Both services will
include the same songs and the same sermon will be preached at both
services. Hopefully the second sermon will be a little better with
the practice (more helpful for me than Garry) and I can’t wait to
experience our time with the Lord in such a way that more people
will be able to take part.
-
The
celebration continues THIS WEDNESDAY NIGHT at 7PM. July 2nd
1998 was the beginning of CrossBridge and we are going to take some
time to praise God and celebrate what He has done for the last 10
years this year on July 2nd. Please join us and bring
your best dessert with enough to share. Drop off your dessert at
the tables in the back then gather in the auditorium at 7PM. Garry
will give a short devotional and we’ll show the slide show Greg
Miles has been working on while we eat our sweet treats. Bring your
kids, your friends, your family, your sweet tooth and join in the
celebration. Can’t wait to see you.

You may have seen
this video already but I feel it is 8 minutes well spent reminding
us of how God’s power turns darkness to light. “But you are the
ones chosen by God, chosen for the high calling of priestly work,
chosen to be a holy people, God’s instruments to do his work and
speak out for Him, to tell others of the night-and-day difference he
made for you- from nothing to something- from rejected to
accepted.” 1 Peter 2:9-10 (message)
