Madeline grew up in Natchitoches, Louisiana, and attended Northwestern State University of Louisiana and Louisiana State University. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree in library science secondary education and English and a master's degree in library science. Madeline retired from the Birmingham City Schools as a library media specialist in 2003. She now works as a substitute teacher in the Shelby County Schools and as a receptionist for Weight Watchers. Madeline and her husband, William (Bill), love to travel and have visited interesting locations such as Australia and New Zealand, Russia, the Scandinavian countries, France, Scotland, the Orient, Turkey, Egypt, and Israel. They recently returned from a trip to Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks, Montana, and Utah, where they saw God's glory in the beautiful scenery. Madeline and Bill have been married since 1971 and have one son, Charles Philip Buchanan. |
