Sunday Morning Connections
Adult Education Ministry
Since the beginning of time, God relentlessly
has pursued a meaningful relationship with humankind. This longing
found its greatest expression when Jesus, "the exact representation of His
beginning" (Hebrews 1:3), entered our world, inviting us to "learn" from Him
(Matthew 11:29).
This call to discipleship is the driving
force behind CrossBridge's Adult Education ministry. The curriculum,
taught be devoted, qualified Christians, is designed to bridge the gap
between intellectual knowledge and practical application of God's Word.
The ultimate goal of the program is to lead its participants into a real,
and joyfully obedient, relationship with our Savior.
Core Principles
To at least point
toward that lofty goal, the adult curriculum is founded on the following
core principles:
Engage Scripture - God's word is one complete, divine revelation
to make known to us the "mystery of [God's] will, according to His good
pleasure, which He purposed in Christ." (Ephesians 1:9)
Experience God - God sent His Son that we might know God (John
14:9). The Word and God are inseparable: "in the beginning was the
Word and the World was with God and the Word was God (John 1:1).
Enter into Grace - God's word is His communication to His adopted
children and God's invitation for all humankind to enter His family.
The Word reveals, not only the secrets of life, hope, and peace, but also
the way to grace.
Express God's Love - An intentional study of God's word reminds
us that "faith expressing itself in love" is all that really counts
(Galatians 5:6).
Enthusiasm for Service - As we mature in our relationship with
God, we will become "a people of His very own, eager to do what is good
(Titus 1:14).
As indicated by these core principles, the
curriculum has been designed to engaged Scripture that results in
experiencing God so that we might enter into His grace, express His love to
each other, and become involved in service to others. We sincerely
pray that the Adult Education Ministry will inspire its participants to
engage God while they connect with others.
